JaggN Production

The “JaggN” documentary was a success.

PRE-PRODUCTION:

We had the idea to use “JaggN” when we heard about the project. The lead singer is a close friend of ours and we have been engaged with the band for months. We immediately started brainstorming the different ways we could navigate them. We were thinking of a rockumentary, and covering them before and during an upcoming event, but we decided to just introduce them and explain their story. We drew out a story and started filming within the next few days.

FILMING:

We filmed everything in the matter of a day. We went to one of the subjects houses, Justin, and got all of the footage we needed. All of the interviews took place there and some B-Roll was shot there as well. The B-Roll we used of the party scenes and past performances were all filmed by one of us three at previous times. They were at Homecoming and previous parties. When we got to the house, we set everything up, told them the entire process and we were set! They filmed their interviews and “jammed out” so we were able to get everything done, and enjoy listening to them. We even got two full clips of them playing covers that we ended up using in the final product.

POST-PRODUCTION/EDITING:

We started editing immediately after filming. It took us about a week to completely finish it and we’re proud of what we ended up with. I edited all of the audio and synced all the clips together. We then added the B-Roll on top of it. This was probably the most difficult part of the whole process. It was the most time consuming but rewarding at the same time. We added all of the text after syncing, just to make it easier for us. The last thing we did was taking the audio clips from them performing, isolated it, and used it as the intro and outro music. Both “Enter Sandman” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” we’re performed by then.
